- In 2025, over 6 million South Africans were on the road during the long weekend, increasing the risk of traffic incidents base on a 2025 Easter Report
- Alcohol‑related crashes remain a concern. Although road fatalities were lower in 2025, each death is one too many, and it is reported that excessive drinking continues to fuel road accidents, domestic violence and other social harms.
- Responsible drinking saves lives. Simple actions like paced drinking, alternating with water or soft drinks, designated sober driver, and checking in on friends proves to dramatically reduce risk.
