South African Fashion Week Announces Autumn/Winter 2025 Collections

South African Fashion Week 2025 brings 40 designers and fashion-related events to Melrose Arch from September 24-28, 2024. Stay tuned for collections by Mantsho, Gert Johan Coetzee, and the Mr. Price Menswear Competition.

40 Designers and an Exciting Lineup at Melrose Arch, Johannesburg

Johannesburg, South Africa – The highly anticipated Autumn/Winter 2025 South African Fashion Week (SAFW) is set to take place from September 24 to 28, 2024, at its new home, Melrose Arch. With a lineup of 40 top designers and an array of associated events, SAFW promises to deliver yet another dynamic showcase of South African fashion.

South African Fashion Week 's New Venue at Melrose Arch

SAFW has partnered with Melrose Arch, adding a new dimension to the event by integrating fashion with art galleries, restaurants, and stores within the precinct. Director Lucilla Booyzen expressed her excitement for this partnership, saying:

Top Designers Returning to the Runway

Several renowned designers will return for the Autumn/Winter 2025 collections, including Mantsho, Erre, House of Olé, and previous competition winners Floyd Avenue and Artho Eksteen. These industry veterans, along with rising stars, promise to deliver groundbreaking designs that capture the essence of South African fashion.

Opening Night: CRUZ Vodka Collective and Party at SA Fashion Week

The event kicks off with the CRUZ Launch Party on September 25th, followed by the CRUZ Collective Fashion Show featuring designers such as Thabo Makhetha, Amanda Laird Cherry (ALCA), and Fikile Sokhulu. CRUZ Vodka’s Brand Manager, Maisha Mamabolo, shared their excitement: 

“This season's collections encapsulate our spirit of success and luxurious experiences.”

Designer Highlights at SA Fashion Week

  • Artho Eksteen: His collection titled “Pond” is inspired by the tranquil yet chaotic beauty of rivers and streams.
  • Gert Johan Coetzee: Launching his London Fashion Week collection.
  • Jacques Bam’s Bam Collective: Showcasing the collection “DYNAMISM 24/25,” exploring identity formation through fashion.

ISUZU Luxury Collections at SAWF

ISUZU Motors SA returns as the Official Vehicle Partner, collaborating with designers Floyd Avenue, Belhauzen, and House of Olé for the ISUZU Luxury Collection. Each designer will present an athleisure capsule with one standing a chance to win R50,000 for their standout design.

Sustainable Fashion and Mr. Price Scouting Menswear Competition

The event’s final day features the Mr. Price Scouting Menswear Competition, where eight emerging designers will compete for a cash prize of R50,000. Sustainability is a key theme, with collections focused on printmaking and eco-conscious fashion.

A Celebration of African Fashion Icons

The week will conclude with solo shows by celebrated designers such as Palesa Mokubung of Mantsho, Mzukisi Mbane of Imprint, and Enhle Mbali Motshwa, whose “AmaZulu – The Heavenly Collection” will end the week on a high note.

Partnering with L'Oréal Paris and Media Giants

All makeup for the shows will be done in collaboration with L’Oréal Paris, aligning with their ethos of diversity and beauty for all. Media partners like E! Entertainment, Cruz Vodka, and Zebra Square will ensure wide coverage, while SAFW’s longstanding commitment to sustainable fashion continues to resonate throughout the event.
